Social Science

The mechanisms of society are complex.  Agreeing on our social contract often creates conflict. The things that hold society together; the way we interact with each other - symbols, geography, groups -  have often been influenced by the outdoors.

The symbols of the sun, travelers, seeds, water, trees, the universe, and animals are some of the oldest symbols we have.  These symbols drew people together into a common understanidng of each other.  These symbols are still used by Greentroverts today.

Geography, the physical world around us, creates in us a deep, and meaningful life.  Native tribes around the world connect and identify with their sacred geography; others find solice in a single mountain, tree, lake or stream.  These physical feattures give us meaning.  Greentroverts find comfort in being together in physical geography.

Groups are often created around the outside.  Hikers, bikers, cavers and gardeners, are all greentroverts who have found solice in each other.

"Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul."
- John Muir
